In Memory Of Sherry: "Run Your Dogs Not Your Mouth!"

Now, don't that sound like something Sherry Bando would say?

"Run your dogs, not your mouth!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Before I ever went down to the mouth of the Pearl River to hunt wild hogs wit my buddies on the Mississippi side, the Texas crew warned me to watch them boys from Mississippi!
And by the looks of the goings on at the East Texas Hog Baying Championship for the
 Sherry Bando Memorial this weekend, there ain't much changed in 10 years.
Guess Who Is On Top?
20 years ago, I sold my pick of the litter to someone as a family pet with the condition that I could always come back and breed to the dog. To make a long story short, instead of returning 'my' pup, they had the dog euthanized @ 6 months because they claimed it was 'too aggressive'. Unfortunately, they failed to understand that 'self defense' is NOT aggresion!
About 10 yrs ago, the street punks who fight pitbulls in my neighborhood found out the hard way that my curs win in fights with their dogs. Since then, I have had to be on guard about who I sell my dogs to because they now want to cross breed my dogs over their pits.
What is below, I copied and pasted from Facebook, and it will help explain the 2 statements above.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I've been holding off on posting this, but I feel the need to share.
Last weekend a neighbor had a house guest, who brought a pit bull with them. I had Minnie outside for an early morning potty break when they let the pit bull out. The pit barks and then proceeds to run a half a block to my backyard. At this point I'm not sure if it was after me or my Cur pup, but I was scrambling trying to get my dog back in the house. I couldn't get to her in time. About halfway across my backyard the pit bull lunged at my pup. In the darkness it was hard to tell what was going on, but with the growling and wheezing mixed with the rustling leaves I knew it was a serious fight and my heart sank, I've just started working with my dog and getting her interested in squirrels and now I'm going to lose her right here in my backyard.
The neighbor's guest came running with his flashlight and starting screaming incoherently. As he turned his light to what I can only assume is going to be a bloody mess of what was left of my cur puppy, I couldn't believe what was happening.
My four month old, 35 pound, Ladner Cur was holding a 45-50 pound pit bull to the ground by the throat!! After I knew my dog was in control of the situation I knew I could get in there to help her. I proceeded to let the other fellow know that he and his dog were less than liked here and that he should make sure to keep his dog and his mouth under control. The pit bull and the house guest left later that morning.
We have young children and this situation could have been tragic if they had been in the yard. I can tell you that from now on, Minnie will always be with them when they go out.
I am happy to say that Ladner's Minnie Pearl came through the scuffle without a scratch! My wife is so proud of her, she bought her a new rope toy.
It's hard to believe a dog can be so gentle with our family and friends and still have the grit to protect us like she did.
Thank you Curt Ladner and Tonya Bulmer for sending this wonderful dog my way.
I love stories like this

Pistol Creek Bay Pen March 10-12 2017

Too Close To Home!

I just built a round pen trap 150 yards behind my house at the end of my driveway @ the barn. I built it right over an active game trail. The hogs were coming around my house, crossing the road, then the bridge and tearing up the golf course across the river!

It has been a few years now, but it looks like I need to start training puppies for hogs again...

This is getting a little too close to home! And thank you to all the deer hunters for fattening up the hogs for the last few months! We still got another couple of weeks of gun season and then all the game feeders will be empty untill about September...

"I" Am An Animal Rights Activist?

It has been brought to my attention that the reason almost all the big and small ranches in Texas that have the best, elite, high performance, well bred Catahoulas do not breed and sell to the public is because the owners are fed up with the outright lies, attacks, disrespect, and risk of theft of their dogs! They do not have to have a website, breed and sell 'to the public' or register their dogs to sell them, because the genetics and 100% performance of 'their' bloodline is all they need to get thousands of dollars for a puppy, or cow/hog dog and as much as $500-$1,500 just to track a dead deer, or 'catch' a wounded one.

"To live above with those we love, now there is the glory,
but to live below with those we know, now that's another story!"

First of all, I want to stand up and salute Donald Trump for standing up to da 'fake news' CNN this week, and putting up wit so much disrespect, false accusations, slander, libel and defamation of character for like what da last year? And let's not forget the liberal media abuse suffered by Congressman Clay Higgins from Nov 8th - Dec 10th, 2016! OML, the media and some certain politicians are shameless!

And Trump did it to do what ... profit from his position of power? Nooo, He took all that 'fake news' shit, to SERVE us and help us make America great again!

People, he owns 2,500 hotel resort/casinos in 22 countries! He don't need da money, or to be POTUS to 'milk' da system like certain politicians we have seen in the last 25 or even better: 53 years! And I don't care if he doesn't want to give us his tax returns! If, he is an American State National, like I am, he is not 'legally' obligated to 'pay' taxes! His corporations, by law, AND THE CONSTITUTION, are required to pay taxes, NOT HIM! Leave da man alone AND LET HIM DO HIS JOB! You are ALL Americans, ACT like it!

He is now CEO of the United States, Incorporated and dedicated himself to be 'our' public servant!

In less than a week, the Trump/Pense are gonna blow for the second coming of America the great!

Secondly...
All in one week, I am accused of and being called 'small dick' (for standing up for the US constitution) by the you know whose sore losers,

and then a St. Martin Parish(where I am from) Catahoula breeder accuses me of being an Animal Rights Activist, AND A DOG THIEF? Me? Is this jealousy and because, I can go to a couple of the most prestigious, elite, high performance, Catahoula ranches in Texas(who do not breed and sell to the public) and have anything I want no charge! LMFAO!

OK, if you know me, you know that I DO NOT NEED TO STEAL ANYONE'S DOG, AND, that I am fighting for your and my dogs right to eat meat, AND HUNT, and protect us!
And I am fighting for your and my right to own, hunt AND BREED Louisiana Catahoulas and PIT BULLS!
Ever heard of: "Love your neighbor as yourself''?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here is what we all should be united and fighting against in the name of 'fake news':
Please take time to go read the entire article in the link above!
Dey should have killed me while dey had da chance...
Why??? ~ "Because I am comin after dem!"
In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.
 ~ George Orwell ~
If you want to make someone angry, tell h
im a lie; if you want to make him furious, tell him the truth. ~
All truth passes through three stages.
 First, it is ridiculed, second it is violently opposed, and third, it is accepted as self-evident.
~ Uncle Earl’s Hog Dog Trials in Winnfield, Louisiana, has been an annual event since 1995, and is now billed as the "Super Bowl of Hog Dog Baying." (true)
There are even youth scholarships for the event. (also true)
While hog dog trials try to package themselves as respectable entertainment, they are often little more than glorified hog dog fights, similar to other bloodsports like dogfighting, bullfighting, and cockfighting. (pure BULLSHIT! aka 'fake news') ~
(editors note: this article is evidence of liberal, tree/bunny huggin, veggie minded, busy body, back biting, criminally disrespectful, illegal, slander, libel, and defamation of character!)
OK, now dey really pissing me off!
I got da red ass RIGHT NOW, like when I stood up against 'dem' for 'loading da chutes'  in 2011 to rig the competition to determine who would 'WIN OR LOSE',
and I put a stop to that bullshit at Uncle Earl's 2011!
 And I haven't been back since, because I was warned thay my dogs and my life wuz at risk if I EVER went back!
Excuse me? I cannot protest fraud and the greatest display of animal cruelty in protection of 'my Uncle Earl family' and a sport I love, without my life and that of my dogs being threatened? Even the mayor of Winnfield in 2011 advised me that HE got a LOT OF COMPLAINTS from citizens of Winnfield about what went on in the 2 dog bay on Saturday! And the greatest trainer in the bay pen industry/business described it as a 'bloodbath'.
I got reports that long time attendees who had actually won @ Uncle Earl's(years before) were leaving on Saturday because they were embarrassed about what wuz going on in front of 5 judges who should HAVE STOPPED the event because of the pitiful, caught out, terrified, bleeding, piss pour, hogs coming out of the chutes, some of which with their nuts hanging our of their ripped scrotums!
And half of the dogs in the 2 dog were disqualified for catching! Dogs that were winning ALL OVER THE COUNTRY were being accused(by the Jezebel eye in da sky, and you know who you are baby!) of 'not' being properly trained!? Excuse me?
It ain't just me and it ain't because I am a sore loser, OR AN ANIMAL RIGHTS ACTIVIST or a raving lunatic! I care about the Uncle Earl's family, and the sport as a nationwide industry, and I learned to stand up for our heritage, 'our' hunting rights , AND 'what is right' from Jimmy Young! If we didn't put a stop to this and police our selves, guess who wuz gonna stop it? That's right, HSUS and PETA, and then dey would go after our dogs and our guns and hog hunting too!
"When it comes to hog hunters, we all got one thing in common, we all love da smell of a stinkin hog!" ~ Jimmy Young
'If' I am an animal rights activist, then I am actively engaged in protecting 'my' animals right to do what they love and serve, provide food, protect the environment,  and protect me!
I am coming back and...
 I am coming back because of and in honor of our dog sister and my sweetie, Sherry Bando!
Thank you Jimmy Young for advising me @ the Louisiana Dog Festival in September of 1995, that I should put Maurice into a hog dog field trial, because he could win a hog baying contest, and that wuz before I was a hog hunter or even knew what a hog baying was all about!
BTW: Following Jimmy Youngs wise advise, I took my 2 1/2 year old daughter Christina, and my dog Maurice about four months later to Dave and Phyllis Wright Alexander's bay pen in Wills Point, Texas in January 1996 and Maurice tied for 1st place in the one dog! He had never been in a pen with a hog in his life, and he was 4 years old!
But he was born on the houseboat with me in da Atchafalaya Basin Swamp and had run those swamps as a free dog, survived alligators, fought with coons and nutria, long before before dere was hogs in Grand Avoille Cove, and I became a hog hunter.
I am Marcus de la Houssaye,
a proud American patriot,
hog hunter, breeder of Cutter and Camp a While bloodlines,
and I can be reached @ 337 298 2630
 if you are interested in a puppy, started dog or finished dog.
I operate a hog dog/blood trail dog training facility 24/7/365.
I am presently semi-retired from doing my world famous de la Houssaye's Louisiana swamp tours,
so I am now with my dogs 24/7 and writing my book: 'The Last Permanent Resident',
about my life on my houseboat in The Atchafalaya Basin.
Give me a call, I will be glad to talk to you, bacuz it's a Pearl River Swamp/Sherry Bando kinda tradition...
Legend Wins The High Point And Best Of The Best 2016
Every dog enters the ring with a perfect score and is judged on mistakes.
Legend didn't make any.
I don't know what he did in the one dog, two dog, and the old and young, @ Uncle Earl's 2016, but he won the High Point Dog and the Best of the Best!
They don't call him 'Legend' for nuthin! Wow, watch him bay 'em!
You can't train 'em to do this, he is a natural!!!
Whoa, what a great hog for the Best of the Best! Notice it never backed up to the fence! Das what I am talking about when I say if you gonna call it the worlds largest or the super bowl of bayings, then: GIVE ME A WORLD CLASS HOG TO BAY!
And thank you Kelly Lee, for sharing this video, because I can't stop watching it!
Sorry, this the only link I have at the moment, and you must be on facebook to interface ...
Wildlife biologists are desperately searching for ways to control the spiraling numbers of feral hogs? Duhhh
Market opens for feral hog meat
Wildlife biologists are desperately searching for ways to control the spiraling numbers of feral hogs. They are prolific breeders that have become a serious and pervasive threat to the Lone Star State.
But there is a growing market for feral hog meat that could help reduce their numbers. Hog stations across the state serve as holding pens for the hogs before they are sent to processing companies like Southern Wild Game.
James Bond operates a hog station just west of Snyder. He said, on a good week, 100 pigs move through his holding pens.
“We buy live hogs from all over the state of Texas,” Southern Wild Game plant manager Rusty Spannagel told the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal in a phone interview. “…I think it’s a way that we can take a product that is actually a problem for farmers and ranchers and make it into something that’s constructive instead of destructive.”
Processing plants like this are similar to those in a domestic pork plant. Pigs wait in holding pens, then enter a standardized, assembly line-style slaughter and processing system.
They process between 250 and 400 pigs on a typical day.
Spannagel said hog parts not fit for human consumption can have some purpose. He said hides, feet, ears and bones go to factories that make dog chews. Hearts are harvested for a company that uses the valves for human hearts.
“We try to use every part of the animal. There’s very little of the animal that we don’t use in some productive way,” Spannagel said.
Texas has a unique feral hog arrangement, according to Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service Wildlife Specialist Billy Higginbotham.
He noted it’s better to eat hogs trapped in colder months because there are fewer parasites. He also recommends eating younger hogs under 200 pounds, because the meat is tougher in older hogs.
Spannagel said Southern Wild Game is subject to the same USDA standards and inspections as at livestock plants.
“We use USDA-approved methods and follow human handling practices,” Spannagel said.
If you trap a wild hog yourself, there are safety measures to take before eating the meat.
Wash your hands, disinfect knives and keep uncooked meat cold. Also wear latex or rubber gloves and safety glasses, in case you’re splashed with bodily fluids. Higginbotham advises euthanizing and burying hogs if you notice any unusual behavior.
“People shouldn’t be afraid to eat wild pigs. They’re very lean. The meat’s very good, but you have to take precautions just to be safe,” Higginbotham said.
