Hog Dog Field Trials Are Doing Great Everywhere (except Florida)

I am so happy to see that our heritage and sport of hog dog hunting and hog dog field trials is doing so good that a whole bunch of new bay pens is going into operation from Texas to Georgia.

It is an unofficial count of about 8 new bay pens in the state of Georgia alone.

I took it upon myself to stand up and defend our bay pen sport from a serious threat in 2011. I had, after that, pretty much given up on the future of bay pens because of so much internal drama, where we should have all been working together to preserve our sport, but were instead fighting among ourselves. Because of that event in March of 2011, I opted to stand off and see where this was going, but now it looks like things are going our way again.

You see, the animal rights wachoos wanted to shut down the bay pens and 'then' go after hog hunting and our right to train or even own hog dogs!

Well that didn't go as planned, so now they are gonna try a 180 degree approach to first stop hog hunting in the wild and 'then' shut down the bay pens. OML!!!

One of the humaniacs plans is to 'humanely' round up the hogs and 'put' them in a sanctuary!

Excuse me, but ... DO THESE PEOPLE HAVE A LIFE?

At the bottom is a link to a petition to ban hog hunting in Florida(and then all 50 states) and this is a perfect example of how out of touch with reality and rediculous these tree hugging, bunny kissing, Bambi loving, 'progessive' liberal, animal rights activists are.

In honor of Jimmy and Sherry Young the former publishers of Bayed Solid magazine who always rallied support for our rights and heritage, I am dedicating this article to advise everyone who loves hog dog hunting, and bay pens to remain viigilent in protecting this sport that we all dearly love.

I will try to edit some more in here later.

Here is a couple of excerpts from the link above:
Florida (as well as other states) has a wild boar problem. Hogs are numerous, omnivorous and have no natural predators, making them one of the largest nuisance pests in the state. There are many humane options for dealing with the pigs, which do not need to involve brutally killing the pigs or putting domesticated dogs in harm’s way. However, despite the existence of alternatives, Florida and other states have exempted the use of  "bait-dogs" in boar hunting. This practice is incredibly dangerous and very inhumane for the dogs and boars involved.

(editors note: it looks like 'they' are confused about baying vs 'baiting'?)

(b) “Baiting” means to attack with violence, to provoke, or to harass an animal with one or more animals for the purpose of training an animal for, or to cause an animal to engage in, fights with or among other animals. In addition, “baiting” means the use of live animals in the training of racing greyhounds.

EAST TEXAS HOG BAYING CHAMPIONSHIPS 9/2017

Here it is the much anticipated Alamo outdoor world championship final leg of competition.

On the cover is the defending World Champion Bay Dog "Legend".

We will honor the world champ every year on the cover of the September flyer and none is more deserving than Legend after having maybe the best year a competition bay dog has ever had.

He was the biggest winner at Uncle Earls in 2016 and he was at the top of every class he entered in at East Texas making it no doubt the best year in recent history and maybe ever for a dog in this sport.

In my mission statement when I started this pen I stated I wanted it to be about getting the dogs recognition and making their worth go up. Well here is to a fine year and many more.

Champ you deserve it... See y'all in September

GETCHU SOME!!!

Below is my daughter Christina and her 'Bobalou' 1996 at the boat landing in Henderson, La.

She is not posing, she is working her dog and securing Bobalou while daddy launched the boat to make sure her Bobalou doesn't get run over by the boat trailer or the truck tires.

We came up with a new shirt the other night. "We got crabs at the east Texas hog bay"
